Based on the best practices of professional organic growers, the system saves time and money by allowing gardeners to WATER, WEED & FEED in 1 STEP.
No other landscape fabric contains the built-in slow-drip irrigation that our product features. The top black layer is a woven (55gsm) material with 6% Tinuvin coating, blocking UV rays and harmful weeds. The bottom white layer is a spun-bound (17gsm) water-retaining fabric; moisture is wicked out to cover the entire area evenly, then all the way down to the roots. With our fabric, you’ll experience deeper root growth and healthier plants.
Made from Rainweave™, all of our blankets have 2 layers of weed-blocking power with built-in drip irrigation. Planting is done on the green line that runs the length of the fabric in between the drip lines. Simply cut an x-shape to insert a starter plant, or punch through to insert a seed directly. Hook the layflat or stiff polyethylene hose to a water source, and grow!
The woven top layer will last up to 5 years under UV exposure, and 20 years if covered with mulch. In order to prolong the fabric life, please cover with an organic covering, such as mulch, moss, wood clippings or chips, grass clippings, etc.

All Rainweave and Weed Free Garden Watering Blanket fabrics include built in drip irrigation tape between the layers. Drip tape specs :: 8 mil tape, 8 inch emitter spacing, 40 gph flow rate 5/8” iD.
The drip tapes are spaced 12″ apart and run the full length of each fabric.
Fabric Life: evogro 5/20 :: the woven top fabric layer will last up to 5 years under uv exposure and 20 years if covered with mulch. The bottom spunbonded fabric layer helps disperse the water more evenly.

Everything planted, corn, watermelon, squash, cantaloupe, beans, lettuce, cucumbers, broccoli, cauliflower, tomatoes, bell peppers and honeydew, are growing well and seem to be getting sufficient water from the soakers. One advantage I have found with this is it's ability to keep the plants from being waterlogged during a hard rain and it holds the water under the blanket well, discouraging evaporation. Make sure you mulch after your plants have sprouted in order to control weeds or grass from growing from those holes and to keep the blanket better protected from UV to last longer and the box suggests. All in all, I am pleased and looking forward to a good harvest this year and will most likely buy at least 1 more for a spare.
